As the heavy veil of COVID lifts and as more of us settle into doing our work in more typical ways, offices are taking shape once again. Just recently, I heard of multiple people (myself included) cleaning and organizing offices. We’re taking care of shredding, hanging things up, and doing other tasks that have fallen by the wayside. For me, working in a clean and organized space allows me room to think and create more effectively.

Our Tech department recently hosted a recycling event. The piles of expired equipment were rather overwhelming and show the incredible breadth of support our 3 person team provides. Since many of our offices have not seen regular use during Covid, teams are excited to get back to their annual spring cleaning. Purging old materials and organizing your space can lift your spirits-sometimes it will seem like a whole new office!

Have you started your spring cleaning yet? While spring cleaning typically is associated with spring, there is something about the lifting of the heavy COVID veil that is spring-esque.  Even though we are in the thick of summer, the relevance of spring cleaning is strong!  Here are a few reasons you may want to work it into your schedule:

  • Decrease stress – clearing our physical clutter can leave us room to focus on our tasks at hand instead of becoming easily distracted
  • Improve your health – after a long, closed-up winter, our offices can of course become stuffy. Get rid of that dust and enjoy the spring breeze!
  • Take inventory – this is a great opportunity to evaluate office supplies. Eliminate the excess and consider what else you do need for a productive working space.
