This Supported Living Update meets 6 hours of Continuing Education credits for employees in our Adult Residential Services programs. Positive Behavior Support is an approach that can help a person overcome a pattern of problem behaviors by focusing on teaching the individual safer, easier, and more effective ways to get needs and wants met. This training focuses on looking at an individual’s behaviors holistically, identifying and teaching appropriate replacement behaviors, and creating ways to reinforce positive behaviors. A strength-based approach is emphasized. Please Note: This is now an in-person, one-day class. The registration for this class will close 1 week before the class starts. Upon enrollment, all participants must include the address to which they wish to have their class materials mailed.

Service Alternatives is an American Red Cross Authorized Provider. The First Aid/CPR/AED course incorporates the latest science and teaches students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as burns, cuts, scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck, back injuries, heat and cold emergencies and how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies to help victims of any age – adults (about 12 years and older) and pediatric (infants and children up to 12 years of age). Students who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate for Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two years. This class is indented for Service Alternatives' Employees, Foster Parents, and SA-served Clients. RIGHT RESPONSE® Recertification (Burlington)

An industry leading de-escalation training program. The philosophy centers on proactive, holistic, and immediately effective approaches to address conflict and crisis, with a goal of decreasing the need for physical intervention. This is a recertification workshop. This workshop is free for Service Alternatives' Employees, Foster Parents, and SA-served Clients. Tickets are available for an Advanced, Elements+, and Elements Recertification. Please note, you must possess a current RIGHT RESPONSE certificate to attend this workshop or your expired certificate must be within the 90 day grace period to be eligible for the recertification workshop.
