Residential Care Training – Webinar 4 (Ch: 8 & 9)
Online WashingtonResidential Core Training: 40-Hour Core Basic is a foundational training program required by Washington State for long-term care workers. This course provides essential knowledge and skills to effectively support individuals receiving DDA services. Topics covered include agency policies and procedures, Individual Instruction and Support Plans (IISP), Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSP), rehabilitation skills, and maintaining positive relationships with Service Alternatives clients. Participants must attend Day 1 before progressing through the rest of the training. The first day focuses on core principles such as respect, dignity, boundaries, and the history of conditions qualifying individuals for DDA services. Days 1-5 are conducted via webinar, with additional homework required to meet the 40-hour certification requirements. The skills lab, held in person, completes Chapter 12 of the course. This class is intended for Service Alternatives' Employees, Foster Parents, and SA-served Clients. If you are interested in attending the course and do not fall within those categories, please reach out to the Service Alternatives Training Institute. We make every effort to create an environment inclusive to all training participants. If you require additional support or special accommodations to participate, please email us at learn@servicealternatives.com at at least 5 business days before the training and let us know how we can serve you.
