At Service Alternatives, the definition of Respect begins with “Respect is the manner in which we each walk through our lives. It is rooted in the fundamental belief that each human being is truly valued and deserves to be treated with dignity and kindness.”

Congratulations to Verlin Leedy, Direct Support Professional, in the Adult Residential Services!

The nomination for Verlin demonstrated respect for people all around the workplace and holding true to remembering and truly being in the service of people.

The nomination states:

“Verlin has demonstrated daily the true meaning of Respect in the way that he performs in his job.  Here are just a few examples:

He is an exceptional human being, compassionate, respectful, dependable, and professional to the clients that he supports and provides outstanding quality care. He demonstrates the meaning of respect by listening to what others have to say and to what the clients want without question. He instills hope in all his clients through the care he provides. It’s more than just a job for him, it’s his calling to help others. Whatever Verlin’s clients need, they know it will be taken care of with compassion and respect. He gives his whole heart out and figures out ways to bring out the best in each of his clients in individual ways.  He ensured that the clients had a great Thanksgiving by cooking dinner and including other clients that did not have anywhere to go to have dinner as well. We are thankful to have him on our team.”

We are indeed thankful to have him on our team. The respect Verlin brings is globally displayed in all areas of our work.
