Grow through What You Go through: Psychological First Aid

2025-01-03T21:55:11-08:00

Psychological First Aid (PFA) prepares participants to provide PFA, one variation of a peer-mediated supportive psychological intervention aimed at mitigating stress people can experience following a potentially impactful life event. Participants will develop an appreciation for the benefits of PFA and become familiar with the SAFER-R model of its implementation. In addition to developing skills to provide PFA, this training introduces a less known way of using this intervention: to create an atmosphere of psychological safety within a team and provide team members with tools to support each other during life’s challenges, thereby increasing team cohesiveness and individual resilience. This training is intended for Service Alternatives' Employees, Foster Parents, and SA-served Clients. If you are interested in attending the course and do not fall within those categories, please reach out to the Service Alternatives Training Institute. We make every effort to create an environment inclusive to all training participants. If you require additional support or special accommodations to participate, please email us at learn@servicealternatives.com at at least 5 business days before the training and let us know how we can serve you.
