Introduction to Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed to equip professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively support individuals in their pursuit in a life worth living. DBT is an evidence-based practice that has demonstrated success in supporting individuals with a variety of barriers to living a life worth living, particularly in managing challenging behaviors and promoting emotional regulation.
This training provides a comprehensive overview of DBT’s origins, principles, and core strategies. Participants will gain an understanding of how biological and environmental factors influence behavior, and learn how to apply empathy and validation in their interactions. The course covers key DBT tools, such as Behavior Chain Analysis for processing challenging behaviors, and Core Mindfulness skills to enhance daily activities.
Additionally, participants will explore the critical concepts of dialectics and how they can be applied to help individuals make balanced decisions and resolve conflicts. The training also delves into the essential DBT components of Distress Tolerance, Interpersonal Effectiveness, and Emotional Regulation, providing practical techniques immediately applicable in both professional and personal settings. This course must be completed prior to attending advanced DBT Skills training.
Introduction to Dialectical Behavior Therapy is available through attending a pre-scheduled training session or scheduling an onsite session, allowing your organization to integrate this knowledge into your training programs.
