With your partnership, we help individuals advance their potential on the pathway to employment.

Would you like to assist an individual with disabilities in developing their employment skills? Is your business looking for meaningful ways to connect with your community?

Sometimes, an individual we support can benefit from an assessment of their skills and job-related interests in a realistic work setting. In these cases, we work with business partners to provide Community Based Assessments (CBA). There are many benefits to becoming a business partner providing CBA opportunities. With no ongoing obligation, you can experience working with and supporting diverse individuals on their pathway to employment. You can also experience the support of Service Alternatives, an employment service provider, at no cost to you.

One of our Employment Specialists will work directly with you to set up an effective Community Based Assessment experience, including:

  • Task selection – together, we will negotiate tasks that can be performed to benefit your business, which also meet the needs of the assessment experience for our participant.
  • Scheduling – together, we will develop a work schedule for our assessment participant and identify the level of support needed from our Employment Specialist
  • Participant compensation from SA – we will provide the participant with the local minimum wage for all hours worked during a CBA experience
  • General supervision and support — we will provide the necessary support to our participant, including:
    • Orientation to the health and safety policies and practices of the business, to ensure a safe assessment experience
    • Collection of assessment data and information — we will be responsible for tracking all necessary assessment information for our participant
