Building your competency to become more self-sufficient.

Are you looking to build your, or a loved one’s, competency to improve health and safety, enhance community connections and status, and benefit from the life experience of power and choice? Are there behaviors such as emotional outbursts, self-harm and suicidality, sexual aggression, property destruction, or injuries to others that are getting in the way of your ability to thrive, your self-esteem, your relationships, your success in school or the workplace, and you could benefit from learning replacement behaviors?

We have a team of Positive Behavior Support specialists trained to write your person-centered plan to address these values and enhance your quality of life. Our plans include specific skills training to increase your success and independence. They are holistic and individualized to thoughtfully support you with developing pro-social skills, protecting your rights and dignity, and ultimately building the life you desire.

Appropriate for:

Testimonials

“It is the best feeling when you help create a plan that is followed by staff, and you see the wonderful changes in the client’s ability to get their needs met. When you see a client going from ineffectively gaining attention by creating stories and getting negative attention to using newly gained skills to simply say what they need and getting their needs met.”

“I’ve had the privilege to see HUGE progress for individuals with PBS. When I first started working for SA, I met a client who was absolutely closed off. Only a select few could speak with this client. Every team meeting, I would listen and learn about this client in our program only wondering what I could learn too and hoping one day to be a part of this client’s growth. It took a lot of time, a lot of questions from the direct support staff, an attentive PBS Specialist, numerous trainings and remembering it all in case I was presented with the opportunity to work with this client. After small attempts at interactions, I’ll always hold close the time this client began slowly interacting with me and even more so, the day they sat with me while they waited for their para transit and told me their entire life story. This client told me what challenging behaviors they started with, where they stemmed from to where they stood in progress at that point. If that is not the summit of self-awareness, I don’t know what is. That’s when I knew how life changing PBSP’s can be when made with all the right parts.”
