Residential Care Training – Day 2: Chapters 4, 5 & 14 (Webinar)

Residential Core Training: 40-Hour Core Basic is a foundational training program required by Washington State for long-term care workers. This course provides essential knowledge and skills to effectively support individuals receiving DDA services. Topics covered include agency policies and procedures, Individual Instruction and Support Plans (IISP), Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSP), rehabilitation skills, and maintaining positive relationships with Service Alternatives clients. Participants must attend Day 1 before progressing through the rest of the training. The first day focuses on core principles such as respect, dignity, boundaries, and the history of conditions qualifying individuals for DDA services. Days 1-5 are conducted via webinar, with additional homework required to meet the 40-hour certification requirements. The skills lab, held in person, completes Chapter 12 of the course. This class is intended for Service Alternatives' Employees, Foster Parents, and SA-served Clients. New Hire Health & Safety (Webinar)

New Hire Health & Safety is a foundational workshop designed to equip new employees at Service Alternatives with essential knowledge of workplace safety protocols. This course covers critical topics such as Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP), the SA BBP Control Plan, SCRIPT (Service Alternatives Critical Response Protocol), Washington Labor & Industries regulations on incident reporting, COVID-19 protocols, and safe driving practices. Through practical examples and discussion, participants will learn how to protect themselves and others while maintaining a safe and compliant work environment. This class is intended for Service Alternatives' Employees, Foster Parents, and SA-served Clients. Introduction to Dialectical Behavior Therapy (Lynnwood)

Introduction to Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) familiarizes participants with the core principles and practices of DBT, an evidence-based practice effectively utilized to support individuals with a variety of challenges. During this session, you will explore the origins and foundations of DBT and understand how biological and environmental factors often drive ineffective behaviors. This workshop emphasizes the importance of empathy, validation, and acceptance in supporting individuals on their journey toward defining and achieving a life worth living. Participants will learn essential DBT tools, including Behavior Chain Analysis, Core Mindfulness skills, and techniques for Distress Tolerance, Interpersonal Effectiveness, and Emotional Regulation. This workshop is designed to challenge and change perspectives, equipping you with practical skills to manage challenging behaviors in both professional and personal settings.
