Introduction to Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) familiarizes participants with the core principles and practices of DBT, an evidence-based practice effectively utilized to support individuals with a variety of challenges. During this session, you will explore the origins and foundations of DBT and understand how biological and environmental factors often drive ineffective behaviors. This workshop emphasizes the importance of empathy, validation, and acceptance in supporting individuals on their journey toward defining and achieving a life worth living. Participants will learn essential DBT tools, including Behavior Chain Analysis, Core Mindfulness skills, and techniques for Distress Tolerance, Interpersonal Effectiveness, and Emotional Regulation. This workshop is designed to challenge and change perspectives, equipping you with practical skills to manage challenging behaviors in both professional and personal settings. Please note this course is a prerequisite for attending advanced DBT Skills training.
