Residential Care Training – Day 4: Chapters 8 & 9 (Webinar)

Residential Core Training: 40-Hour Core Basic is a foundational training program required by Washington State for long-term care workers. This course provides essential knowledge and skills to effectively support individuals receiving DDA services. Topics covered include agency policies and procedures, Individual Instruction and Support Plans (IISP), Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSP), rehabilitation skills, and maintaining positive relationships with Service Alternatives clients. Participants must attend Day 1 before progressing through the rest of the training. The first day focuses on core principles such as respect, dignity, boundaries, and the history of conditions qualifying individuals for DDA services. Days 1-5 are conducted via webinar, with additional homework required to meet the 40-hour certification requirements. The skills lab, held in person, completes Chapter 12 of the course. This class is intended for Service Alternatives' Employees, Foster Parents, and SA-served Clients. American Red Cross CPR/First Aid/AED (Tacoma)

Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED/First Aid is a certification course designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to respond to a wide range of first aid emergencies. As an American Red Cross Authorized Provider, Service Alternatives delivers up-to-date training based on the latest science. This course teaches participants how to recognize and care for various emergencies including, burns, sudden illnesses, breathing and cardiac emergencies, and more for both adults (12 years and older) and pediatric individuals (infants and children up to 12 years old). Successful completion of the course results in an American Red Cross certificate for Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED, valid for two years. This class is intended for Service Alternatives' Employees, Foster Parents, and SA-served Clients.
