I am pleased to announce the SA Value Award Recipient for Employee Satisfaction for May, 2023! Congratulations to Ashlee Wiley, Area Manager in Community Services.
Employee Satisfaction means we each feel valued for our work and supported in advancing our own potential.
The nomination for Ashlee stood out to the committee as it provided much insight as to how Ashlee embeds employee satisfaction into her work. The nominee speaks to having an overall happy experience at SA, and when a supervisor can help achieve this for employees it truly represents employee satisfaction.
The nomination states:
This individual has done an amazing job in continuing to foster a positive team environment despite all of the obstacles and challenges they have faced in the last 6 months.
When I first started in the Vancouver program I was only the second employee. Despite this, Ashlee did a fantastic job clearly communicating expectations and work boundaries, while still maintaining a positive learning environment where I felt I could ask any questions or come to them with any problems I had. Given that my only coworker was my supervisor I was extremely nervous to start, but they made me feel respected as an individual and empowered in advocating for the things I need to make my work successful. As I have worked with this individual they have continued to check in with me and ensure that I have everything I need to be successful in our work. I have also personally seen all of the work that they have put into our program to rebuild our staff so we can continue to serve our clients. I feel that this individual exhibits the employee satisfaction that Service Alternatives strives for in every way because of their positive attitude, willingness to teach others, and their constant support of myself and my coworkers in our personal and professional growth.
