Congratulations to Lucy Falmed, in Residential Services-Island County!
At Service Alternatives, Integrity means our values, intentions, words and actions are in alignment. Lucy’s nomination illustrates how she lives this value every day through her work.
One particular example from her nomination stood out, highlighting her dedication and commitment. When a second staff member was unexpectedly unavailable, Lucy wanted to make sure promises were kept to clients that had a planned an off-island trip.
Without hesitation, Lucy took it upon herself to organize, plan and prepare for the activity to take place despite being without additional staff for the day. She knew traveling off Whidbey Island, including the ferry ride and lunch, was important to the people she supports and showed a tremendous amount of integrity for following through with the plan, despite the unexpected changes. Her actions reflect the sense of integrity and responsibility to ensure the people she supports were not let down, even in the face of unexpected challenges.
The nomination goes on to share:
“Lucy shows an immense amount of integrity in her role as a Direct Support Professional with Service Alternatives.
Lucy is honest and truthful with the clients she supports and her coworkers. She always conducts herself in a way that both respects and considers other people’s points of view.
She takes responsibility for her actions and role models this on a daily basis with both the clients she supports and her coworkers.
Lucy always has a positive attitude and is willing to go above and beyond to support and encourage the clients she supports with getting involved in community activities of their choosing.
Lucy also fosters open communication. She recently had an observation about one of the clients she supports’ PBS plan. She shared her thoughts and observations and it was both impactful for the client and the team.
Lucy has shown that she is honest and truthful and her words, observations and presence are greatly appreciated by all who get to work with her.”
Thank you, Lucy, for your unwavering commitment to the people we support. Congratulations!
