At Service Alternatives, Community is where our services provide the support, belonging, and connection central to a meaningful life. The nomination for Jeanene touched on all the values, yet it really stood out to the committee specific to community as it describes how Jeanene needed to go through the community to obtain the needs of this client. Through connections with community and service providers, Jeanene assisted in navigating resources for the client to regain some fiscal stability and obtain some important needs. The nomination states: “Yesterday, Jeanene was telling our program manager about her visit with an client. This client told Jeanene she had no money and was living off pretty much nothing. This client’s basic needs were not being met. Jeanene asked a bunch of open-ended questions and found out that the client had not been getting any money through the program that are supposed to be helping her. Jeanene made calls to the social worker, and to the different programs and found out that the client’s money had been going into an account that the client had no knowledge of. There was also money that needed to be back paid to this client. Jeanene also was able to help this client get set up with other resources near her. Jeanene then was able to get the client money that same day and take the client shopping to get necessities like toilet paper and laundry soap. I feel Jeanene went above and beyond what was required of her to help this client.” Thank you, Jeanene, and congratulations! |
